Benjamin has been a slave his whole life, whipped for every mistake and misstep. Desperate to escape, he risks stowing away aboard a smuggler’s ship in the hope of finding freedom. 

Discovered and dragged onto deck in the fury of a storm, Benjamin fears for his newfound freedom. Instead, he witnesses a woman summon lightning, tearing the very fabric of the world open. 

Benjamin suddenly finds himself on an unfamiliar world, in the company of people with inexplicable powers. 

Before the Captain can decide the fate of the unwelcome stowaway, disturbing rumours reach her from an isolated town deep in the forest. The Captain takes her crew to investigate, offering Benjamin a chance to prove his worth to them. 

As danger closes in, Benjamin must fight to survive, carving out a place for himself amongst these extraordinary people.

Alyssa is the best assassin in her guild, she earns the best contracts and always, always completes her mission. When a wide contract sends every assassin in the area on a hunt for a fugitive, she is determined to get there first. 

But when the contract goes awry and they fall through a tear in the fabric of reality, she finds herself marooned with her target on a strange new world. With no way to get home and unfamiliar with the local customs, the two take a job pulling off a heist at the royal palace. 

Surrounded by an unknown crew and growing closer to the woman she was supposed to kill, Alyssa must work out a plan to steal a relic from under the royal’s noses while keeping ahead of unknown pursuers and figuring out what to do with the strange woman she failed to kill.
